Liquid Diet
Liquid diets have been around for as long as mankind has been able to manipulate its food intake. Today, we have the clear liquid diet, the ten day liquid diet, and even the Oprah liquid diet! Yet is a liquid diet safe for everyone to follow? It is true that a liquid diet will result in quick and rapid weight loss, but at the same time it may also cause some rapid problems with your bodily functions, specifically your heart muscle, your leg muscles, and your kidney functions. To this end it is advisable to be very cautious when beginning any liquid diet, and to only continue on with it for a few days. Take for example the liquid diet recipes that help those who are following the clear liquid diet. Within a hospital setting this liquid diet is only recommended for about two or three days to help the digestive tract get back to normal after surgery and anesthesia. This liquid diet and prostatectomy recovery are oftentimes credited with great results in helping people to shake off the undesirable effects of that surgery. Yet if you wish to employ this medical liquid diet for your weight loss, you will want to consume only those food items which you can see through, such as thin broth, Jell-O, and water.
If you decide to go for a full liquid diet, however, you will be able to enjoy anything that has passed through a strainer. Since you will be able to puree most anything in a blender and then strain it, this kind of liquid protein diet is appropriate to follow for over a month. While you will ingest more calories, they are so easy to digest that you will continue to lose weight. At this stage it does not matter if you can see through the food or not. Finally there are the cleansing liquid diets which should not be confused with a liquid fasting diet for weight loss. While foods for a clear liquid diet are very limited, those for safe full liquid diets are more numerous. Thus, your liquid diets foods list may include meat, eggs, and other items, yet remember that they must be pureed, thinned, and then strained. While this may be a safe way of following a liquid diet, it is also hard since the tastes and textures are almost non-existent.
