Detox Diet
Detox diets have been around since the dawn of mankind. Perfected by ancient civilizations as a means of purification, the detox diet was meant of ridding the human body from pollutants that may have been ingested. In days gone by the faithful would follow a detox diet plan to prepare themselves for worship, high holy days, or simply to do so in keeping with social obligations. These days, the detox diet is one of the many “lose weight quickly” fads that circulate on the Internet. Detox diet recipes range from the lemon detox diet which stipulates that only lemon juice mixed with maple syrup and a dash of cayenne pepper may be drunk, while one recipe for the liver detox diet calls for the painstaking preparation of several herbal drinks that are supposed to flush out poisonous remnants. A detox diet may be worthwhile for a short period of time, such as the three day detox diet, and recipes for such clinically recognized diet may be found at your physician’s office or even on the websites of nationally renowned health organizations. Yet if you are looking for recipes for a detox diet that is not undertaken in conjunction with cleansing the body but instead is used for rapid weight loss, you most likely will not find them on the reputable websites.
The reason being is the fact that while a 3 day detox diet, such as the lemonade detox diet, serves a number of specific purposes, weight loss is not one of them. If you use a detox diet to achieve rapid weight loss, you will succeed, but you will most likely get more than you bargained for. First and foremost, you will seriously impair your body’s function, you may decrease your lean muscle mass, and you may suffer the effects of a heart attack. A detox diet was never meant to be observed for long periods of time, and it does not matter if a supplement manufacturer will give you free detox diet recipes or a free detox diet plan, the truth dictates that the sample detox diet you often find online – the one involving lemons – is nothing more than what is commonly referred to as the master cleanse. Staying on it as part of a 21 day detox diet will seriously harm your body, your nerve functions, and generate various other problems. Thus, before you begin following a detox diet recipe, please be sure to discuss it with your doctor!
