Low Salt Diet
Whether you are suffering from the many diseases that are aggravated by foods with a lot of sodium or you're just looking to cut down on your sodium intake a diet that is low in salt has a lot of positive effects on your health. A low salt diet can be hard to imagine with all of the fast food meals and classic American meals but it's possible to dramatically cut down your intake of sodium. It will take extra effort simply because all processed food are incredibly high in sodium and your new meals will take some getting used to because it's become so natural to eat foods with a high salt content. A low salt diet is great for the health of your heart and for you health in general because fatty and salty foods generally go hand and hand. If you are also trying to cut down on cholesterol you will notice that by adding the additional requirements of a low salt diet isn't difficult. Encouraging your family to also start on a low salt diet is a great idea because excess sodium isn't good for anyone and the word diet doesn't have to mean weight loss. The amount of sodium any one person in your family is ingesting is probably enough for the entire family. The cutting out the extra salt with this diet won't have any negative side effects on you whether you are over or under weight. To start eating healthier it is a good idea to start making low salt diet meal plans or low salt diet and low cholesterol diet plans to make it easier to find the foods that contain less sodium. Though it has been said that sea salt is healthier for you than regular table salt there is no research to back it up. It's better to just avoid as much salt as possible regardless of the type. Epsom salt contains more magnesium than most table salt and should definitely not be substituted into your diet. If you can do with out salt, a salt free diet is a great idea. A salt water flush for weight loss is said to be very effective but incredibly uncomfortable because it works as a laxative to cleanse your body. A different kind of cleanse would be recommended for those looking to reduce the intake of sodium.
